Love Power

How many times could I say,
it won’t matter to me?
How many times can I think,
this could never be?
How many days will it last,
when did this begin?
Going back to the place that I know
Anywhere, sometimes,
new places and faces
Just when I feel it wouldn’t happen,
not to me
Pretending everything’s ok
to find out differently
How could I fool myself one more time?
Like an actress on the stage of life
Though the curtains close the show must go on
How could I believe things were different
this time around?
Why did I think I learned my lesson
when it happens every time?
Who am I to consider things would be better?
When I leave what I’ve left behind
To find the same yet another time

When can I break this pattern of familiarity?
When will I step out of this circle of uncertainty?
Will I let go and fly with brand new wings?
Curtains close and open on this stage of life
Somewhere in between
can I spread my wings and fly?
In this life what really matters
is who we are
Our experience teaches us
how to grow and thrive
We are here to serve each other
love satisfies our souls
If we want to come together
we need peace to rule the world
